DURRENCE LAYNE CHEVROLET LATE MODEL DIVISION WEEK 27 PREVIEW

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The battle for the $10,000 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division 2019 National Championship will be anti-climactic in regards to the driver atop the standings heading into Week 27, as Lumberton, MS driver “The General” Shannon Lee has clinched the number one spot and will lay claim to the 2019 National Weekly Championship.

While Lee has clinched the top spot, there is still room for movement among the top 10 with the remaining weeks left on the 2019 schedule. The movement among the top 10 will have to be calculated carefully as there are just a handful of races to be ran in Week 27 to obtain those coveted points. Week 27 action will take place at just three weekly racing sanctioned tracks.

Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division Week 27 races will be held on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, and Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.

Drivers will be looking to net points on their worst finishes to see who will get those invitations to the 2019 Annual Crate Racin’ USA/Durrence Layne Racing Awards Banquet, and receive money from the National point fund. Exciting information regarding the Awards Ceremonies will be forthcoming and we are sure that the drivers will be aiming to get their seat at the banquet and the opportunity to cross the stage.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.
A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.
The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy, with the National Champion pocketing $10,000.
