DURRENCE LAYNE PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 22 ROUND UP

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 22 of the 2019 Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division season saw Eddie Rhinehart of Lawrenceburg, TN have a big Saturday night, but it wasn’t until late Monday afternoon that it was made official. Rhinehart took the win on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN driving the Summertown Metals Special.

The engine in Rhinehart’s race car was protested, and impounded by the track after the main event on Saturday night. Durrence Layne Racing Technical Director Thomas McReynolds went to Thunderhill Raceway, took the engine apart, inspected it and declared it to be legal for a built engine late Monday afternoon.

With the win being declared official, the 50 points Rhinehart earned shot him up into a tie for the seventh spot in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings with Noel Bailey of Lacy Springs, AL. Each driver has 637 points, and Rhinehart has one more week to earn full points before he reaches the 14-week mark of his season. That makes him a title contender.
