Riddle was able to net on a 47 and gain three points to bring his best 14-week total to 692 points. Riddle now has a three point lead over the defending Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman National Champion Oakley Gillespie of Five Points, TN. Gillespie finished sixth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway and did not net on a 48.

Gillespie is second in the standings with a best 14-week total of 689 points. Cross used his final week to earn full points to turn in a 46-point fifth-place drive on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN. Cross is third with a 14-week total of 635 points.

Just nine points separate third through fifth in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division National point standings. One point behind Cross in the fourth spot is Chuckie Gipson of Tuscumbia, AL. Gipson finished ninth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway to net on a 39, gain three points, and bring his best 14-week total to 634 points.

David Nichols of Hodges, AL rounds out the Top 5 of the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division standings with a best 14-week total of 626 points. Nichols finished eighth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway to net on a 41 and gain two points on his season total.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point finish each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

In other Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division Week 21 action, Ryan Sawyers of Newbern, TN drove the Sawyers Motorsports Special to his fifth win of the season on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN.

Michael Blakeney took his third win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Bryce Trull of Lobelville, TN captured his second straight Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division win of the season on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway driving the Trull Racing Special.
